TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu visited the newly appointed TBMM Industry, Commerce, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Commission Chairman, Gaziantep Parliament Representative Halil Mazıcıoğlu to congratulate him.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu hosted the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Ankara, Ron Keller at his office.​

D-8 Secretary General Seyed Ali Mohammad Mousavi visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office. Stating that their target is reaching 500 billion USD trade volume in D-8 countries in 2018, Mousavi said that TOBB will be taking on great goals when it takes on the mantle of the Presidency of the D-8 Chambers of Commerce and Industry.​

As a part of President Abdullah Gül’s state visit to Italy, the Turkey – Italy Business Forum was held. Attending the Forum were President Abdullah Gül, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Emma Bonino, the Italian Economic Development Deputy Minister Carlo Calenda, DEİK Turkish-Italian Business Council President Zeynep Bodur Okyay and Network Globale President Aurelio Regina.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with Turkish and Italian businessmen for a business breakfast as a part of President Abdullah Gül’s state visit to Italy.​

Speaking at the Turkish-French Business Forum attended by Turkish President Abdullah Gül and French President François Hollande, TOBB and DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they could surpass their target trade volume of 20 billion Euros with France – especially if the obstacles presented by visa and transportation quotas are abolished.​

During his speech at the Antalya TSO Traditional Tax Award Ceremony, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We did it once before at the 2001 crisis. We will focus on Turkey’s future. If we focus on the future, if there is hope, I believe that there is nothing we cannot accomplish as the Turkish sector and entrepreneurs.”​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the European Union (EU) Minister and Head Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited the Antalya Commodity Exchange and attended the January monthly council meeting.​

Prior to the French President François Hollande’s visit to Turkey, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi met with TOBB, TİM and MÜSİAD as well as the resident French companies in Turkey regarding developing the economic relations between the two countries.​
