Oil and Petroleum Products Industry Council held its last meeting of the year

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkish Petroleum and Petroleum Products Industry Council met via video conference to consult on developments in the sector under the chairmanship of Ahmet Erdem.​

Stating that during the meeting on November 28th with the participation of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Treasury and Finance Minister Lutfi Elvan, Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Emerald Selçuk and the President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Naci Ağbal, the sector had the opportunity to communicate first-hand the problems and solution proposals.

At the meeting, where the proposal to reset VAT and add it to SCT was consulted to prevent illegal fuel sales, it was decided to establish a workgroup including public representatives on the relevant issue and to prepare a report including impact analysis and implementation procedures.

It was reported that a cost analysis study was carried out on the postponement of VOC and the request for postponement was forwarded to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.  It has been recurred that parliament has requested a postponement.

In the case of Opening and Working Licenses, it was reported that the export of GSM to the workplace instead of the company was an industry demand. It was noted that the issue was in the final stages and was progressing positively.

It was noted that the price had risen in biodiesel and caused losses in the industry. Emphasizing that at least removing the additional burdens is important and therefore it would be beneficial to remove the letter of guarantee.
