Speaking at the opening of the meeting, TOBB Board Member Engin Yeşil noted that sector councils serve as important platforms where collective wisdom is formed and the sector’s challenges and proposed solutions are conveyed to relevant authorities. Yeşil emphasized that issues such as sustainability, resource efficiency, and compliance with international regulations hold strategic importance for the sector’s competitive strength.
TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç, meanwhile, highlighted the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors, emphasizing that the green transition process has become a critical agenda item for the sectors. Kıvanç noted that the Council’s work plays a significant role in conveying the views and recommendations of sector representatives to the relevant platforms.
During the meeting, participants were briefed on the TS EN ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management System and the Blue Water Certificate. With the participation and contributions of TSE System Certification Director R. Zeynep Öztürk and Asiye Düşünceli, Director of the Industrial Water Efficiency Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, applications and certification processes aimed at increasing water efficiency in industry were discussed.
Canberk Eyigün, an expert from the General Directorate of Export at the Ministry of Trade, provided information on the Green Deal Compliance Project Support – Responsible Program. The scope of the program and the contributions it will make to companies’ green transformation processes were shared with the participants.
Finally, updates regarding the COP31 Türkiye 2026 process were shared at the meeting. In presentations delivered by Berrin Okutan Uzan, Senior Manager of COP31 Türkiye Sponsorship, and Mürsel Akbulut, Director of the Climate Finance and Incentives Department at the Presidency of Climate Change, information was provided on climate policies, financing opportunities, and areas where the private sector can contribute to the process.
The meeting concluded after participants shared their views and suggestions.
