During the meeting, current issues facing the transportation and logistics sector and proposed solutions were comprehensively evaluated. Council members specifically raised the sector’s expectations regarding traffic fines for heavy freight transport, the traffic police support fee, the size and tonnage restrictions imposed on heavy freight vehicles at the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, and the requirement to drive during daylight hours.

Operational issues related to locomotive allocation and capacity in rail transport, as well as the sector’s needs regarding legislation and compliance processes, were among the key topics discussed at the meeting. In addition, views and recommendations were shared on combating unfair competition, the integration of the UETDS and e-Invoice systems, and preventing duplicate documentation in the transport of hazardous materials.

The meeting also addressed the development of cooperation in the transportation sector between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf countries; the strengthening of transit transportation; and issues encountered in the registration and licensing processes for mobile and truck-mounted cranes.

In his closing remarks, Çağlar Tabak, General Director of Transportation Services, stated that the Ministry remains open to consultation regarding solutions to the challenges faced by the sector and will continue to work in collaboration with the sector with a solution-oriented approach.
