Türkiye Venture Capital Council Meeting

The Turkish Venture Capital Council Meeting was held online with the participation of TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci, Council Chair Altan Küçükçınar, and council members.​​

Speaking at the meeting, TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci highlighted the strategic importance of venture capital in terms of high-value-added production, technological transformation, and global competitiveness, noting that the growing investment interest in areas such as artificial intelligence, deep tech, green transformation, and defense technologies is encouraging.

Noting that collaboration with public institutions to strengthen the venture capital ecosystem is ongoing, Büyüksimitci stated that the TOBB Türkiye Venture Capital Council will continue to serve as a bridge between the public and private sectors and contribute to the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Kadir Dikili, Deputy Director General for National Technology and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, provided detailed information on “Venture Capital Fund Calls” in a presentation he shared with the participants.

Serdar Yer, Director of Financial Operations at KOSGEB, shared the objectives and goals regarding participation in Venture Capital Investment Funds under the KOSGEB Calls with the participants.

Following this, Serkan Ünsal, a council member and General Manager of Startupswatch, provided an update on the entrepreneurship ecosystem for the first quarter of 2026.

Council Chairman Altan Küçükçınar shared current issues facing the council with the participants and solicited their opinions.

The meeting concluded after council members’ views and suggestions regarding assessments of the investment ecosystem were also gathered.
