Mothers are the central column of society

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his Mothers’ Day address, stated that a mother's love cannot be compared with anything on earth and said, “Mother's heart is the softest, most compassionate place in the world. Every good thing in the world is wrought by mothers.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu’s full statement is as follows:
“In looking for an exemplar of sacrifice and unrequited love the only answer is 'mother'. Mothers are the central column of society. As long as it exists, society will survive. It is a fact that societies which do not give the necessary value to their women and their mothers will be condemned to lag behind in the race of civilization.
In our belief, it is mandated to love and respect the mother. ‘It is a great sin to breaking a mother’s heart’ is a most significant warning in our culture.
We also know through countless examples how beautifully blessed and accomplished women are when our mothers add their hands to the economy and trade.
As the Turkish business community, I would like to emphasize that it is one of our most important goals to increase the presence of our women in the economy.
I extend my deepest gratitude and respect to all mothers who gave us life and have the greatest say in building our future.
May those who have passed on find respite in heaven. Happy Mothers’ Day.”
