We must be sensitive to the rights of our disabled citizens

04.12.2017 / Ankara

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, making a statement in connection with Disability Awareness Week has pointed out that development and civilisation level of a country can be understood by its care and importance provide for its disabled citizens.

Hisarcıklıoğlu statement includes following remarks;

“Our unity and solidarity are the greatest power we have.  The main essentiality for that is to embrace and respect each other. Today, globally almost one out of every ten people are disabled. We should keep in mind the fact that each and every person is a potential for disability. None of us knows what waits for us tomorrow. Therefore awareness that we show for disability rights is certainly not a favour but in fact is a duty. We must facilitate their lives and should practice pleasant and constructive legislations in due form.

We all should be aware of that rights which our fellow disabled citizen acquired are no lesser than what we have. We are obliged to construct our lives altogether on the basis of such awareness. Each and every person exists on the face of the earth is precious.

On behalf of Turkish business world, I wish Disability Awareness Week to inspire us for enhancing awareness and attention."
