Call to council members to “inform our business world”

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu convened with council members at the Chambers / Exchanges Councilors Briefing Seminar. Stating that they’ve relayed demands and complaints from chambers and exchanges to the government, Hisarcıklıoğlu informed the council members about actions regarding demands. The TOBB President asked the members of the council to inform the business world about their work and to make sure that all members could benefit from the opportunities.​

In his speech, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they had received very positive feedback from the briefing seminars they had previously held and therefore decided to host a new series of seminars. Stating that council members represent the business world, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that they’ve conveyed the problems from the provinces to all the ministers, especially President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Recalling that there are problems related to banks, the TOBB President explained that they have met with the Turkey Banks Union and decided to hold consultation meetings. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they’ve held meetings in 13 provinces and that banks have heard the problems of the real sector firsthand for the first time.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he is in contact with the government and many issues have been resolved as a result of problems and solution proposals reported to him from the chambers and exchanges. TOBB President provided detailed information and listed the issues that were solved as follows: Short-time work allowance, maturity periods for SSI premium debts, minimum wage support for employers, liquidation and transfer contracts, technical insolvency problem, trade receivable insurance, support in the field of licensed warehousing, VAT and SCT reductions for the domestic market, SME and agriculture loans, restructuring of mortgage loans and SME Value Loan. Hisarcıklıoğlu also underlined that there are many efforts underway regarding employment, financing, tax, legislation and support.
