In his statement on the matter, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Adana Şalgam has become our 45^th product to receive geographical indication registration from the European Union. May it be beneficial for Adana and our country. I congratulate Adana Chamber of Commerce President Yücel Bayram, who champions our local values, the Adana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, its Assembly, and everyone who contributed to this achievement. We have a product diversity that very few regions in the world can boast. As TOBB and the Chamber-Exchange community, we are making intensive efforts for local and geographically indicated products. Our work continues on 46 geographical indications and 2 traditional product names that are in the process of being registered with the European Union.”
