In his remarks, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated, “Balıkesir is one of our country’s most important production centers, thanks to its fertile lands, robust agricultural production, and livestock potential. We place great importance on the development of licensed warehousing so that our producers can receive fair compensation for their labor, store their products under safe conditions, and bring them to market at the right time and at the right price. As TOBB, we have been pioneers in this field for years. From the establishment of the licensed warehousing system to TMO-TOBB LİDAŞ, and from electronic commodity certificates to TÜRİB, our country’s first and only Commodity Exchange, we have taken significant steps to ensure our agricultural markets operate more robustly, transparently, and efficiently. The Balıkesir Commodity Exchange is among the founding partners of both TMO-TOBB LİDAŞ and TÜRİB. Our 14 Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges in Balıkesir have also taken steps to establish a licensed olive oil storage facility. I wholeheartedly congratulate Mehmet Çetin, President of the Balıkesir Commodity Exchange, with whom we collaborate on our Commodity Exchanges Council and who advocates for the interests of Balıkesir and our producers on every platform, as well as our Assembly members and everyone who contributed to this effort. “I hope that BTB LİDAŞ will bring prosperity and abundance to our city of Balıkesir, our producers, and our merchants and industrialists.
