  TOBB Board Member Arif Parmaksız attended the TOBB Turkey Durable Consumer Goods Council meeting wherein, as well as election of the new president, discussions pertaining to Private Consumption Tax (ÖTV) on household appliances, developments on the implementations in hazardous jobs and the changes to the Consumer Legislation. - “The infrastructure must be developed further” Waste electrical and electronic products’ control and the developments of the relevant legislation expected to go into effect in 2012 were discussed. Going into effect as part of the EU Compliance Law, the legislation needs to be put into effect only after the infrastructure work of the sector is completed. Discussions on the current role of Turkish Standardization Institute as well its beneficial and detrimental applications as pertaining to commerce were discussed at length by Sevel Dondurma Makinaları President Murat Kurtalan and Turkish Standardization Institute Product Documentation Division Electronic Sector Documentation Electronics Engineer Abdullah Haltaş.
