Şahin Bilgiç: “Everything has a standard”

As a part of the October 14th World Standards Day activities, a panel titled “The Iron and Steel Sector and Importance of Standardization” was organized in Adana through TOBB and TSE cooperation.​

Speaking at the opening of the panel, TOBB Board Member Şahin Bilgiç said that the panel will discuss the mirror committees for standardization, the iron and steel industry as well as the inspection processes in the sector.

Stating that TOBB, Science, Ministry of Industry and Technology and Turkish Standards Institute have been working together for years, Bilgiç said, “Through this collaboration, we are strengthening our ties and cooperation. TOBB and TSE have signed a protocol to ensure more effective participation in the standardization activities of the business world.”

Şahin Bilgiç, thanking the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Özlü stated that the private sector has the signature of Minister Özlü on many reforms which paved the way for production and investment and that they have seen, the latest example of which is the Production Reform Package.

Mehmet Veysel Yayan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, stated that they are pleased to be together on this day which began to be observed on the proposal of Turkey 48 years ago.

Sebahittin Korkmaz, the President of the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE), stated that Turkey is making efforts to increase its participation in world standards.
