TOBB Board Vice President Ali Kopuz attended the 1st Turkey-Malaysia Business Development Consultation Meeting.​

Speaking there, Ali Kopuz stated that they are working together under the umbrella of the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Asian Pacific Commerce and Industry Chambers, the Islamic Chamber and the D8 Chamber, emphasizing that TOBB wants to work more closely at the bilateral level.

Kopuz stated that Turkish entrepreneurs sell goods to more than 200 countries, conducting business all over the world and they attach great importance to the Turkey - Malaysia relations.

Pointing out that the agreement governing trade relations between Turkey and Malaysia dates back to 1977, Ali Kopuz said, “Agreements to encourage bilateral trade and investment environment were signed later. The locations of our countries provide great opportunities for business associations. Turkey, the world's largest model of economic integration in relation to the Customs Union with the EU, is the gateway to the EU market for Malaysia. Likewise, Malaysia offers great opportunities for Turkish entrepreneurs for the ASEAN market. Turkey-Malaysia cooperation, built on correct foundations with strong mechanisms, handled with regards to sustainability will be of great benefit to both countries.”
