Members from the National Committees of the 92 countries in the World Council chose the ICC New President. Paul Polman, who served as Unilever CEO since 2009, became the ICC President.
Polman said, “I am extremely happy to join the ICC administration at a turning point for the ICC and the international community. Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and taking the leadership role of the business world in response to the global challenges that each country faces is more important than ever. As the voice of the business world on the world stage, the ICC is determined to mobilize the business world in order to make long-term gains in the social and economic spheres.”
Former ICC President Sunil Bharti Mittal will continue serving as honorary President.
