Applications have begun online for the 1,350,000 lira in investment support to be provided to aspiring entrepreneurs through the BİGG Garage program, which is being carried out under the TÜBİTAK 1812 Support Program in collaboration between TOBB Economics and Technology University (TOBB ETÜ), ASELSAN, and Konya Chamber of Commerce (KTO) Karatay University.

To be eligible for this support, aspiring entrepreneurs with ideas in thematic areas such as smart transportation, smart production systems, energy and clean technologies, communication and digital transformation, health and well-being, and sustainable agriculture and nutrition, and who wish to establish their own company to develop a project involving R&D and innovation, may apply. If accepted, they will be eligible to receive 1,350,000 lira in capital support in exchange for a 3 percent equity stake. Upon completing the first six months, entrepreneurs may be eligible to receive an additional 1,350,000 lira in investment, provided they demonstrate a need for it and the investment fund deems it appropriate.

The technology-based entrepreneurship training, business plan development, and project proposal writing workshops, as well as all mentoring support, provided under the BİGG GARAJ Program will be offered free of charge by BİGG GARAJ project partners and supporting organizations. Entrepreneurs will also gain closer access to collaboration networks, potential customers, and funding sources through TOBB ETÜ, ASELSAN, and KTO Karatay University.

- Application Requirements

The application requirements for support are as follows: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from any associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program. Applicants must not have previously received support under the Ministry of Industry and Technology’s Technology Entrepreneurship Capital Support Program or Phase 2 of the TÜBİTAK 1512/1812 Program. As of the pre-application deadline, the applicant must not hold a stake in any business.

- Over 25 million TL in support has been provided since 2015

Since 2015, the TOBB ETÜ Technology Transfer Office has organized entrepreneurship training sessions, both in person in more than 20 provinces and online, as part of the BİGG GARAJ Program, with more than 1,300 entrepreneurs participating in the training sessions and over 700 in the mentoring program. More than 90 teams have been awarded over 25 million TL in funding. The TOBB ETÜ Technology Transfer Office has worked alongside entrepreneurs who have established their companies, supporting them in securing investment from both Türkiye and abroad and bringing their products to market.
