ICC is continuing to work in order to ensure global prosperity

Prime Minister Deputy Ali Babacan, ICC President Harold McGraw, ICC Secretary General Jean-Guy Carrier as well as ICC Board Members came together during a business dinner held by ICC Board Member, ICC Turkey National Committee and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.​

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, ICC Board Member, ICC Turkey National Committee and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stated that they have completed the first ICC board meeting of 2014.

 

Stating that the ICC, since its founding in 1919, has voluntarily worked in the development of trade by forming applicable rules and roadmaps, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that many international organizations including the G20 are working together for the development of trade.

 

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the ICC is working diligently to ensure global prosperity.

 

Reporting that they have assessed the changing global economic outlook and the itinerary of the G20 during the 143rd Board Meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked Prime Minister Deputy for attending the meeting despite his busy schedule.

Prime Minister Deputy Ali Babacan touched on the importance of Turkey in regards to its place in the global economy and its integration therein.

 

Babacan also emphasized that Turkey has contributed greatly to G20.

 

Babacan stated that Turkey would be taking over G20 Term Presidency from Australia in 2015.

 

Stating that they put great importance on G20 term presidency, Babacan reported that there are 10 work groups working to prepare for this.

ICC President Harold McGraw said that they are in Turkey to support TOBB President and ICC Board Member Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu on his invitation.

 

Emphasizing his happiness in visiting Turkey, McGraw underlined the need for consistent growth agendas in countries.

 

Stating that they will be holding 4 sessions in regards to G20, McGraw said that this is important for Turkey’s growth as well as that of the region.
