“If the private sector is strong, Türkiye will be strong”

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), assessed the Medium-Term Program (MTP) covering the 2027–2029 period.

In his assessment, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated: “May the Medium-Term Program (MTP) for the 2027-2029 period, announced by our Vice President, Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz, bring prosperity to our country and our nation. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to its development.

We attach great importance to the Medium-Term Program announced today, which aims to permanently reduce inflation to single digits, maintain fiscal discipline, and achieve production-oriented growth.”

The program’s key points, in particular, making the fight against unfair competition, especially from external sources, one of the main pillars of manufacturing industry policy; the effective use of trade policy tools; the reduction of input costs; and the institutionalization of regular consultation with the real sector, are important issues that we closely monitor and consistently emphasize from the perspective of the business community.

In a period marked by global and regional uncertainties, as well as rising protectionism and global trade wars, our fundamental expectation as the business community is that steps will be taken swiftly to safeguard our country’s production, investment, employment, and export capacity; that financial stability will be strengthened; that access to financing will be facilitated; that our exporters will be supported; and that a comprehensive Industrial Protection Strategy will be established.

As the business community, we will continue to work with all our strength toward our country’s goals. “If the private sector is strong, Türkiye is strong.”
