Climate Control Council meets in Istanbul

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Climate Control Council convened at the TOBB İstanbul Service Building under the chairmanship of Council President Zeki Poyraz with the participation of TOBB Vice President Selçuk Öztürk.​

After receiving information about the Climate Control Council Strategy Document Workgroups operating under Council, Council Members listened to the detailed presentation on global climate strategies. Councilors were briefed on the targets for communication for the air conditioning sector.

Councilor Emrullah Eruslu gave information about the current work on the revision of the TS 825 standard. He also talked about the importance of insulation. Hasan Suver, Environment and Urbanization Deputy Minister, said he has been discussing the issue. The Ministry is in the process of setting energy usage limits.

In addition, the 2022 “Solar Decathlon,” to be held jointly with ITU and the University of Germany Lubec was discussed. It was stated that the representatives of the climate control sector wanted to carry out this project under the auspices of the Presidency, and it was emphasized that work on the subject should start at the soonest.

At the council meeting, approval was received for the establishment of a Strategy Document Workgroup on “Digital Transformation,” which is important for the sector recently. In addition, a session with the heads of the commissions was proposed at the sector meeting in November 2021.

At the council meeting, which convened with an intensive agenda, it was stated that the studies carried out on professional engineering and occupational insurance should be discussed in more detail, that coverage could not be provided from the insurance sector of our country, and it was understood that sector stakeholders should do a more comprehensive study on expert engineering.

Finally, information was given about the “Boiler Operator Training and Examination Center,” which was opened in cooperation with KBSB-Gedik University.
