Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

M. Cihat Lokmanoğlu, Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), participated online in the BIAC (Business at OECD / OECD Employer and Industry Advisory Committee) General Assembly held in hybrid format. ​

The number of capacity reports approved by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) in May 2023 increased by 22.3% (755) compared to January 2022 (3,382) and reached 4,137.​

Salih Zeki Murzioğlu, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), stated in his speech at the General Assembly of the Supreme Organization of Organized Industrial Zones (OSBÜK) that they left behind a difficult period and said, “We had many troubles internally and externally, we overcame many difficulties. We continued to work and produce. We carried industrial production and exports to the highest levels in our history. We managed to increase our share in the world export market above 1 percent for the first time.”​

Before the 79th General Assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), the commissions and boards within TOBB met separately with the participation of TOBB Board Members.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) TIR Committee convened with the physical participation of Tamer Kıran, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cengiz Delibaş, Deputy Secretary General and other members of the TIR Committee.​

İrem Ardıç and Şanel Ala, responsible for the Trust Seal activities carried out under the umbrella of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), held a meeting with Kaya Karenoğulları and Feride Burçak Öztürk from the General Directorate of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade to evaluate the issues that can be done regarding the Trust Stamp.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Financial Technologies Council Meeting was held at the TOBB Istanbul Service Building under the chairmanship of Koray Bahar, President of the Council, with the participation of Mahmut Özgener, TOBB Board Member Responsible for the Council, Ali İhsan Güngör, Deputy Chairman of the Capital Markets Board, Serdar Murat Öztaner, General Manager of Payment Systems and Financial Technologies at the CBRT, Gencay Karaman, Project Manager of the Presidential Finance Office, Vural Çelik, Unit Manager of the Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency, and Selvi Kocabay, Head of the IV Audit and Implementation Department of the Competition Authority.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Technology Meetings were held in Eskişehir under the auspices of TOBB, in cooperation with the E-commerce Center and Women in Tech Association (Wtech).​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Glassware Council Meeting was held by video conference method with the participation of Ali Kopuz, Vice President of the Board of Directors of TOBB, and intense interest of senior representatives of the private sector and non-governmental organizations under the chairmanship of Murat Kolbaşı, Chairman of the Assembly.​

With the initiative of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, the request to declare November 26 as “United Nations World Sustainable Transport Day,” which was brought to the agenda of the United Nations by Türkiye, was discussed and accepted at the UN General Assembly in New York.​
