Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The Sustainability Summit, organized in cooperation with TOBB, Meta and Habitat Association within the scope of the Environment Week, was held on June 10, 2022 at Facebook Station, of which TOBB is also a partner. Representatives of public institutions, academics, representatives of the business world, SMEs and NGOs took part in the event where panels titled “Turkey's Sustainability Vision”, “Sustainability Trends and Methods in the World of Academia and Civil Society”, “How Do Sector Leaders Contribute to Transformation?” and “Transformation Journey for SMEs – Success Stories” were held.​

The training series designed to prepare companies for the Carbon Regulation Mechanism at the Border (SKDM), which is prepared within the scope of the European Green Deal and will significantly affect Turkey, continues.​

In cooperation with the European Training Foundation (ETF) and the German Federal Agency for Vocational and Technical Education (BIBB), the dissemination event “Monitoring and Evaluation of Work-Based Learning” was held in Bonn, Germany.​

“Station Diyarbakır,” one of the satellite centers of “Facebook Station,” which was put into operation in İstanbul in cooperation with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Facebook, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Habitat Association in September 2019, was opened on 09.06.2022.​

The Finland-Turkey Cooperation Seminar was held with the participation of Finnish Minister of Development, Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari and representatives of the business world from Finland and Turkey. In the event where panels were organized for sectors such as textile, steel and energy, the focus was on low carbon and circular economy and sustainable production within the scope of the European Green Deal.​

Labor Market Information Advisory Board Meeting held with the participation of the Presidency, ministries, public institutions, professional organizations and trade unions. Murat Aydın from the Financial and Social Policies Directorate and Nazlı Akgün from the SME Directorate participated on behalf of our Union.​

Within the scope of the Chamber/Commodity Exchange Accreditation System efforts, Process and Risk Management Training was carried out for 4th-6th and 14th Term Accredited Chambers/Exchanges at the Union headquarters on 9-10 June 2022. ​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Vice President Tamer Kıran met with UK Deputy Minister for Exports Mike Freer at a working lunch. During the meeting, the future of UK-Turkey trade and economic relations and potential areas of cooperation were discussed.​

Within the framework of the TOBB Employees Qualified Orientation Program, information was provided by Prof. Dr. Oğuz Ergin, Chief Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mehmet Uylukçu, General Manager, and İlhami Aktürk, Technical Assistant to the Secretary General, respectively, about the activities of TOBB University of Economics and Technology, TOBB UND Lojistik Yatırım A.Ş. and the Turkish Standards Institute.​

TOBB Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Council Central Anatolia Regional Meeting was held at Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the chairmanship of Regional Representative and TOBB Nevşehir KGK President Gülper Gündüz Yassı and hosted by TOBB Sivas KGK President Meziyet Genç.​
