Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

At the opening of the meeting, Co-Chairman M. Cihat Lokmanoğlu congratulated the people of TRNC and the business community for the TRNC Presidential elections, and stressed the importance of holding an event as the Turkey-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum during our President's possible visit to the TRNC. In his speech, he also proposed that the long-standing “Turkey-TRNC Business Opportunities Report,” be implemented by making the changes proposed by the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO).

The meeting focused on the agenda issues of the next Meeting of the Joint Board of Directors of the Turkish-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum.

Ferudun Torunoğlu, Vice President of the Turkish side and Anamur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, stated that agriculture will become more important in the TRNC economy after the project of supplying water from Turkey to TRNC, and offered to organize an agricultural fair in Cyprus in partnership with the Anamur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Torunoğlu also invited the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce to Anamur with a delegation to share information on agricultural infrastructure in Anamur and the production of alternative agricultural products.

After setting a date and determining agenda items, a joint board meeting of the Turkish-TRNC Chamber of Commerce Forum will be held.

The Turkish-Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Forum was established in 2018 by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce (KTTO). The Turkish side of the Chamber President and its members are determined by TOBB; the TRNC side by KTTO. Annual economic summits, joint board meetings, business forums, business meetings and efforts to improve Turkey-TRNC business relations constitute the main areas of workof the Turkish-Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Forum.
