Ahmet Nedim Erdem, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TOBB Insurance Appraisers, which represents insurance appraisers operating in Turkey, stated that the İzmir earthquake caused deep pain in in Turkey as well as the insurance appraisers community.

Ahmet Nedim Erdem, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TOBB Insurance Appraisers, said in a statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the İzmir earthquake on Friday, October 30, 2020, as the insurance appraisers community. Allah’s grace upon our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake, condolences to our nation, we wish urgent healing to those who were injured. We wholeheartedly hope that our country and our nation will never experience such great disasters again.

As insurance appraisers, we have started our work in the field in order to reduce the injuries of the insured, who were damaged by the earthquake in İzmir as in the past earthquakes, and to ensure that their grievances are eliminated as soon as possible. Compulsory Earthquake Insurance (DASK) and all insurance policies that offer voluntary earthquake collateral for damage detection studies in every region of our country operating in the expert on earthquake damage, license holders in the relevant branch have started their work by coming to İzmir.

In this process, we would like to ask our citizens and law enforcement agencies to assist our appraisers working in the field and to demand from those who express that they have come to damage detection for insurance to submit their appraiser ID card.

As insurance appraisers, we make every effort to ensure that our citizens' damage compensation payments are made as quickly as possible by quickly, fairly and objectively identifying the damages of our insured and forwarding our reports to DASK and related insurance companies.

First of all, by offering our gratitude to all the teams, health workers and law enforcement agencies involved in the rescue efforts by risking their own lives to save others; We sincerely want it to be known that we stand with our citizens who lost their relatives, homes, businesses and were victims of earthquakes in the İzmir earthquake, and we would like to point out that we are ready to do all our duties in order to identify the damages caused as quickly and accurately and to eliminate the grievances of our aggrieved citizens."

Emphasizing that damage report should be made first for the appraiser to begin damage detection, Erdem said, "Mandatory Earthquake Insurance damage report should be made from Alo Dask 125 Call Center, www.dask.gov.tr website and e-government, and damage report for policies containing voluntary earthquake collateral, from the relevant insurance companies."
