Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

At the opening of the meeting, Co-Chairman Aydin Mistaçoğlu stated that around 300 Turkish-funded companies operate in various sectors in Kyrgyzstan and that these companies provide employment to more than 5,000 Kyrgyz citizens, adding that Turkey is among the top 5 countries that invest the most in Kyrgyzstan.

Stressing that the trade volume between the two countries, which amounts to half a billion dollars, is not sufficient as human potential of the two sister countries of a combined population of 90 million, Mistaçoğlu said he believes the set goal of $1 billion in trade volume will be achieved.

Co-Chairman Aydın Mistaçoğlu also expressed his belief that the Turkish-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce Forum will contribute to bilateral trade and investment relations.

Ambassador Kubançbek Ömüraliyev expressed his agreement that the volume of trade between the two countries does not reflect the potential and that this figure should be even higher, adding that the Kyrgyz government provides exemption from a number of taxes and provides conveniences in order to encourage investors. He noted that Turkish companies and Kyrgyz companies should cooperate more and increase mutual investments.

After the opening speeches, the members of the Turkish-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum introduced themselves and presented their problems, demands and suggestions.

The Turkish-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum was established in 2018 by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Kyrgyzstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI KR). The President and members of the Turkish side of the Chamber is determined by TOBB and the Kyrgyzstan side is determined by CCI KR. Annual economic summits, joint board meetings, business forums, business meetings and efforts to improve Turkey-Kyrgyzstan business relations constitute the main working areas of the Turkish-Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum.
