In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Özer Matlı stated that in addition to the pandemic, seasonal effects in the food sector and increases in input costs were effective in increases in prices and that products such as vegetables, fruits, oils and pulses were greatly increased. He expressed that he was confident that the points where the food price increases experienced by the sector would be discussed with the member sectors and solution proposals would be received, and thanked all members for their participation.
Within the scope of the agenda, Council President M. Ülkü Karakuş gave the floor to the Council Members to discuss solutions and measures to be taken to prevent food price increases on a sector-by-sector basis. It was decided to take note of the solution proposals and measures from the Councilors and forward them to the relevant authorities.
