Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Co-Chairman Günay said that the foreign trade figures between the two countries are in balance and emphasized the continued co-operation work to increase bilateral trade by maintaining this balance.
Günay said that as the Turkey-Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum, work will continue both to increase investments in Bulgaria, to bring investors from Bulgaria to Turkey, but also to increase bilateral trade.
Speaking at the opening, Co-Chairman İnce said the trade volume between the two countries should be increased. Noting that supply chains have been broken with the pandemic, İnce emphasized that countries are now starting to trade mainly with their neighbors, an opportunity for Turkey and Bulgaria.
Sofia Trade Consultants Okan Pakbeşe and Sinem Taştan and Bulgaria's Consul General in İstanbul Toşko Tomov attended the meeting, as well as members of the Turkish and Bulgarian sides of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum.
The Turkey-Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum was established in 2020 by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BULTİŞAD). The President and members of the Turkish side of the Chamber is appointed by TOBB, while the Bulgarian side is appointed by BULTİŞAD. Annual economic summits, joint board meetings, business forums, business meetings and efforts to improve Turkey-Bulgaria relations are the main areas of study of the Turkey-Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry Forum.
