Council President Dr. Yusuf Ekinci expressed his satisfaction with being with the members on the first day of the opening of the schools and stated that they will follow up with the problems of the sector in the coming period.
Dr. Muammer Yildiz, General Manager of MEB Private Education Institutions reported with satisfaction that the decisions taken were above expectations for educational institutions with the statement made on March 1st, 2021. Emphasizing the importance of continuing education with the roadmap and measures to be taken, Yıldız listened to the demands of the sector representatives for the planned circular.
TOBB Deputy Secretary General Cengiz Delibas stated that the circulars issued by the Ministry of Interior are live circulars able to be fast-changed and that the way these circular are prepared in the field of education will benefit the sector. Delibaş noted that rapid revisions with requests from industry representatives in the coming days will make it easier to manage the process.
As of March 2nd, 2021, industry representatives who are happy for the schools to be opened have expressed the common opinion that they care about being in school 5 days a week with all children with the appropriate measures taken. Noting that teachers and auxiliary staff working in educational institutions should also be vaccinated in a time manner, members also underlined their belief that they will manage this dynamic process well together.
Dr. Onur Yüksel, General Manager of TOBB Compliance Mediation and Dispute Resolution Center gave a presentation. Yüksel stated that TOBB Compliance serves with professional mediators in commercial disputes, worker-employer disputes, in-house disputes. In his presentation, Yüksel addressed the services they provided, the operating processes of mediation and arbitration centers, and answered questions from members.
Referring to the issue of VAT on education, which is one of the most important issues of the sector recently, members consulted on the steps that can be taken before the Public to remove or make continuous the VAT reduction from 8% to 1%.
Council Advisor Prof.Dr. Alipaşa Ayas made statements regarding the sector report being prepared and exchanged views with the Council Members in order to make the report better.
