TOBB Board Member Ender Yorgancılar, stating that risk needs to be taken in order to produce and profit more, said that the insurance sector is only party to risk.
Speaking at the opening of the National Insurance Symposium, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Board of Directors Member Ender Yorgancılar said that their greatest wish is for the raising of awareness regarding the insurance sector and its development as well as the restructuring in accordance with 2023 goals.
Stating that increasing exports to 500 billion Dollars in 2023 has become a national goal, Yorgancılar said that we have the ability achieve this by working and producing; that this country has all the means to achieve this goal. He spoke, “The insurance sector will be one of the most important factors in reaching this goal. Turkey needs the dynamism of the insurance sector like it never has today.”
- “The insurance sector is only party to risk, not profits”
Stating that opportunities in all countries are increasing due to globalization, Yorgancılar went on, “We see that there are risks along with opportunities. There is no profit without risk. It is unfortunately impossible for producers, traders or consumers to take on this risk alone anymore. This is where the insurance sector comes in. In this regard the insurance sector is a partner which takes on the risks of businessmen, entrepreneurs and citizens, lowering the risk pressure on people. This allows our commercial life to keep moving. The insurance sector is only party to risk, not profits. There are no other systems in other sectors. If there were no insurance sector, people would take fewer risks, buy less and sell less, stagnating the economy.”
Yorgancılar emphasized the development of the insurance sector in order to achieve our goal of becoming one of the top 10 economies of the world.
