TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay emphasized the importance of all sector councils in the TOBB structure in his opening speech and stated that the problems identified by the councils and the solution proposals are regularly presented before the relevant Ministries and institutions, providing added value to the processes.
Following the opening speech, Ozan Diren, TOBB Beverage Industry Council President, gave information about the meetings with the council category representatives as the first item on the agenda. He expressed satisfaction with the participation of MASUDER – Turkish Mineral Water Producers Association as a council member strengthening the inclusive structure of the Council.
At the meeting, consultations and roadmaps were determined by discussing the work permit duty document form, improving regulations on the promotion of domestically produced alcoholic beverages at fairs and the deposit applications of reusable packaging. The importance of preparing the Council Sector Report and Strategy Document to determine the future strategy of the sector and to embody the working areas and roadmap of the Council was accepted by all participants.
As an essential solution for the supply of raw materials, the
cornerstone of the beverage industry, the contracted agriculture law proposal, which
is being carried out by the TGNA Agriculture Commission, was expected to be
concluded post-haste.
Problems in concentrate exports with regards to organic product samples demanded from nine countries including Turkey by the Italian Customs Administration were expressed.
