Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

At the “Regional Patent and Trademark Representatives Meetings” event organized within the scope of the protocol, Turkish Patent and Trademark Regents Council ‎met with patent and trademark representatives in eastern, southeastern Anatolia, Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Sea regions.‎

In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken mentioned the activities carried out as the Union to raise awareness of the intellectual and industrial property rights of the business world and to create added value from intellectual property in Turkey. He shared the current statistics about the registered products of chamber-exchanges in the European Union and thanked TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Habip Asan for his institution's work on the registration of geographical markers.

TÜRKPATENT President Prof. Dr. Habip Asan, in his opening speech stated that the protocol signed with TOBB aims to increase the competitiveness of the country's industry. In his speech, Asan shared with the participants the current statistics about intellectual and industrial property applications in the first quarter of the year.

The event continued with a speech by Kemal Yamankaradeniz, chairman of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Representatives Council, about the activities of the Council. In his speech, Yamankaradeniz mentioned the structure of the Council and stressed that the door of the Council is always open to registered deputies. As the Council, he added that they aim to ensure that the profession of patent and trademark representation is closely recognized by the institutions with which the regents have one-to-one relations and aim to improve the dialogue between the regents and the institutions.

Later, TÜRKPATENT 1^st Legal Counsel Ahmet Şevki Dağkıran gave a detailed information about the functioning of the Patent and Trademark Representatives Disciplinary Board.

The event continued with questions and requests by the participants under the moderation of Cemil Başpınar, Vice President of TÜRKPATENT and Chairman of the Disciplinary Board of Patent and Trademark Representatives. Başpınar answered the questions of patent and trademark representatives and Turkish Patent and Trademark Regents Council Members.

Within the scope of the protocol signed between TOBB and TÜRKPATENT, the level of awareness of the intellectual and industrial property rights of the business world will be increased with the activities to be organized in partnership with the Turkish Patent and Trademark Representatives Council, and activities for the development of the sector will be carried out by strengthening the communication between registered patent and trademark representatives.
