Important developments for the sector were evaluated at the Council meeting, which was attended by senior representatives of the private sector.

TOBB Vice President S. Zeki Murzioğlu emphasized the importance of the Council in his opening speech, stating that the iron and steel sector is one of the most important sectors in Turkey. Murzioğlu also commented on the first quarter 2021 growth data.

At the meeting where Council President Dr. Mehmet Veysel Yayan briefed on the current developments in the sector, consultations were held with Council Members on the Balances of Supply and Demand in the Turkish steel sector.

An informational presentation on current environmental issues and legislations was also made by TOBB at the meeting.
