Turkey Pharmaceutical Industry Council discussed the sector with the Minister of Commerce

Trade Minister Mehmet Muş invited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Pharmaceutical Industry Council to discuss the problems of the pharmaceutical industry and to evaluate the solutions.​

During the meeting attended by Council President Nezih Barut, TOBB officials and related non-governmental organizations, problems in the export channel and efforts to increase export capacity were discussed.

Council President Nezih Barut noted the increase in drug exports in the last three years and the contribution it has made to the country's economy and conveyed the problems in the export channel. Barut stated that by closing the foreign trade deficit, reducing the cost and increasing skilled employment by producing and developing the raw material of biosimilar drugs in our country instead of importing them. In addition, the negative effects of the long license acquisition processes and the exchange rate difference in the drug pricing system, which is the most important problem of the sector, were explained at the meeting.
