Providing information about the contribution of insulation of existing buildings to the economy, industry representatives demanded that a fund be created to reduce VAT on insulation materials to 1%.
SCT, which is applied at different rates to air conditioning devices that are investment property, has led to unfair competition in the air conditioning sector, the sector representatives also conveyed the topics such as the inability to prefer domestic products in the construction works given by the public tender, and the failure to provide adequate indoor air quality and their proposals for their solution.

Council President Zeki Poyraz, council members Metin Duruk and Mehmet Şanal, who visited Deputy Minister of National Education Sadri Şensoy in his office, offered their congratulations to Şensoy for his new role. Within the scope of the visit, the Protocol between Avcılar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and the Council, internal air quality in schools and insulation of schools were evaluated.
The committee stated that indoor air quality in schools has a positive effect on the mental development and attention of the students, and that research has found that the achievements of students in schools with adequate indoor ventilation are 25% higher than in others. On the other hand, the investment in the insulation of schools is offset in as little as 4-5 years, the representatives of the sector said that insulation has an important contribution in reducing the energy cost and energy imports of our country.
- Cooperation with Vocational and Technical High Schools Evaluated
Within the scope of the visit to Prof. Dr. Kemal Varın Numanoğlu, General Manager of Vocational and Technical Education, the delegation evaluated the Protocol and the cooperation which could be established between the Avcular Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and the Council. During the visit, Turkey Climate Control Strategy Document with the motto of “Be Corporate! R&D! Export!” was presented.
