Durable Consumer Goods Council convened under Trade Minister Mehmet Muş

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Durable Consumer Goods Council visited Trade Minister Mehmet Muş in his office. Trade Minister Mehmet Muş was attended by Onur Burak Özaydemir, Vice President of the Turkey Durable Consumer Goods Council, and Vestel Deputy General Manager and Council Member Mehmet Yavuz, at the meeting where the current problems of the sector and solutions were presented.​

The primary agenda of the meeting was the issue of customs duties on sheet steel, which constitutes the main input of the electrical appliances sector. In line with the European Union's approach to green transformation in its new trade policy and the 2023 targets, support mechanisms implemented under the Turquality program to increase awareness of Turkish brands were also discussed at the meeting, which discussed strategies that can be implemented on energy-efficient products to reduce energy dependence and carbon emissions.
