Our Clean Business Project begins

Developed by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Women Entrepreneurs Council with the support of the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Lifelong Learning and OPET, the “Our Clean Business Project” officially started with the protocol signing ceremony held before the Clean Educational Information Meeting. A total of 40 public education center instructors from Muğla, Antalya and İzmir came together to examine the training contents and project documents and exchange ideas on the roadmap of the project, which covers hygiene training programs for micro enterprises in the service sector. At the end of the meeting, the instructors who receive a certificate of participation will start meeting with the trainees who own the business in public education centers.​

The official protocol of the “Our Clean Business Project,” developed by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Women Entrepreneurs Council with the support of the Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Lifelong Learning and OPET, was signed at the 'Our Clean Business Project Information Meeting' held at Regnum Carya Hotel in Antalya. A total of 40 public education center instructors from Muğla, Antalya and İzmir attended the 'Our Clean Business Project Information Meeting', which was also attended by MEB Research, Development and Projects Department Head Cüneyt Akçapınar, TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay, Antalya National Education Manager Hüseyin Er and OPET Board Of Directors - TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Board Council Nurten Öztürk and MEB Lifelong Learning General Directorate and TOBB officials on September 21st. In the meeting, which started with the protocol signing ceremony and lasted throughout the day, the instructors determined by the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning were informed under the headings of Project Mechanism, Educational Roles and Responsibilities, Training Programs, Principles of Adult Education and Social Impact Study.

In his speech at the meeting, Cüneyt Akçapınar, head of MEB Research, Development and Projects Department, emphasized that the Our Clean Business Project is a new beginning in hygiene, which has increased in importance during the epidemic period. Akçapınar said: “Our aim with the Clean Business project is to create hygiene norms for micro enterprises operating in the service sector, to develop training programs for the internalization of these norms and to raise awareness throughout Turkey within the scope of these hygiene norms. With the project, which we aim to create hygiene standards for micro enterprises in the service sector, we hope that at the same time, revenue increase will be achieved by increasing their trust and preference for these enterprises.”

Speaking at the meeting, TOBB Board Member Cengiz Günay said, “As TOBB, we are aware of the great importance of entrepreneurs in the development of the country. We carry out many trainings and projects under the leadership of our Councils in the provinces in order to strengthen, support and increase the number of entrepreneurs in all areas. We support this by collaborating with many global and national organizations. During the pandemic, we started the Our Clean Business Project with the vision of Nurten Öztürk, President of TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council and Founding Member of Opet Board of Directors, together with our Ministry of National Education and Opet. With the Our Clean Business Project, we aim to have clean, hygienic and healthy enterprises all over Turkey by creating hygiene-oriented training programs for micro enterprises in the service sector. We are confident that the project will be successful and take the enterprises to the next level.”

- Training programs designed for both online and face-to-face

Nurten Öztürk, Founding Member of OPET Board of Directors and President of TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council, reminded that they aim to support the sustainability of their activities by creating hygiene training programs for micro enterprises operating in the service sector with the Our Clean Business Project. “With our project, we aim to reach 31,500 enterprises operating in the field of food and drink, accommodation and transportation in the first place. Today, we are happy to be together with our public education instructors who will provide training to businesses. Our instructors will be ready to provide training to businesses in our public education centers after obtaining the necessary information.” The trainings to be given to the enterprises were individually designed to be face-to-face as well as online. Face-to-face trainings will be carried out in classroom trainings in public education centers in urban centers, while online trainings are designed to provide ease of educational access for businesses far from the center.

- MEB will be expanded throughout Turkey with online education platforms

Within the scope of the project, a total of 18,000, including 6,000 from the food and beverage sector, 6,000 from the hospitality sector and 6,000 from the transportation sector, 3,000 from the food and beverage sector in Antalya, 9,000 micro enterprises, including 3,000 from the hospitality sector and 3,000 from the transportation sector, and 1,500 from the food and beverage sector in Muğla, 1,500 from the hospitality sector and 1,500 from the transportation sector, and 31,500 micro enterprises in total are vital for public health. hygiene trainings will be organized for the creation and operation of purification. Those who have completed their training are entitled to receive the 'Hygiene Training Certificate', while the business will be able to exhibit it in the appropriate place of its business by obtaining the “Clean Hygiene Training” certificate. Hygiene trainings and other project applications specific to 3 different sectors to be developed within the scope of the project will be carried out in the pilot provinces of Izmir, Antalya and Muğla. Thanks to the online education content developed, it is aimed to expand the trainings through MEB online education platforms throughout Turkey.
