TOBB also took its place as one of the main stakeholders at the ceremony, which was attended by representatives from Pakistan and Iran, as well as international organizations such as the International Road Transport Association (IRU) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), along with Pakistani Ambassador Syrus Sajjad Qazi in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
TOBB Transport and Logistics Systems Department Head Aslı Çalık also gave a speech at the ceremony. Noting the importance of Turkish exporters using this corridor, Çalık stated that it is a very vital corridor in its trade with countries in the region. Çalık also noted that this corridor, which started to work with paper TIR Carnet, should be transformed into a digital transportation corridor within the scope of eTIR as soon as possible.
In this way, travel is expected to be reduced to 10 to 12 days on the highway compared to the sea transportations that currently last for 1 month and that trade between the two countries will accelerate significantly. Especially in today's container crisis, it is important that this new corridor, which will provide a time and cost advantage for our exporter companies, is sustainable for our country's transportation and foreign trade operations.
