Turkey Forest Products Council convened

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkish Forest Products Council was held under the chairmanship of Council President Haluk Yıldız with the participation of TOBB Board Member Oğuzhan A. Sadıkoğlu.
Oğuzhan A. Sadıkoğlu expressed his satisfaction to be with the representatives of the sector and noted that the need for forest products caused by the pandemic affects the sector, and that they have made very close contact in our sector councils, chambers and exchanges, and are striving to resolve the submitted demands.
Haluk Yıldız, Forest Products Council President stated that the problems affected each sector differently, especially when looking at the forest sector, the sector was very negatively affected in March, April, May 2020, and then things got more organized for the sector.
In addition, the e-tender system implemented by the General Directorate of Forestry is a suitable form of sale for the pandemic process, but it was among the points noted by Haluk Yıldız, where the problems increased due to the uncertainties experienced in certain places in the tender.
Councilor Tevfik Dedebaş gave a brief information about the problems and solutions he prepared regarding the agenda items.
Forest General Manager Bekir Karacabey, who attended the meeting, answered the questions of the council members and stated that they are working to address the problems related to the sector, increasing production every year to meet the need for raw materials and planning for industrial forest cultivation works.
