- Economy Minister Zafer çağlayan

Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan said in his speech, “I am hopeful that the direct investment inflow will near 20 billion Dollars by the end of the year. We are ready to host more events to this end.”

Çağlayan stated that they have come together to finalize the 6th YOİKK Technical Committees Action Plan formed at the end of a very busy process by the Technical Committee.

- “We must increase the income from a kilo of exports to 3-4 Dollars”

Stating that, as the Economy Ministry, they take each step well aware of the medium income trap, Çağlayan said, “We are a country which has grown by three times in 9 years. It is our intention to grow by three times our present size in the next 11 years. I have stated on many occasions that the paths which brought us this far will not achieve our 2023 goals. We must lunge forward as a country. I have always said that this lunge will happen with branding, high added value, innovation and R&D. What will allow Turkey to rise a level today is increasing the income we get from a kilogram of exported goods from 1.56 Dollars to 3-4.”

- “Three ministries have been added to YOİKK”

Stating that the responsibility of the improvement of the investment environment cannot be given unto a single institution, Çağlayan said:

“The matters which concern investors are being investigated by all relevant public institutions. Therefore, the success of the work we do here will be possible through the culture of joint work and synergy which we engender here. Through the agreement of the YOİKK member institution and establishments, 3 ministries have been added to the YOİKK structure: Ministry of Justice, Energy and Natural Resources Ministry and Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ministry). In this regard, we have reorganized the technical committees’ fields taking into account the views of the private sector representatives and formed 10 technical committees which will work on matters which directly effect the development of the investment environment.”
