Workgroups issues and sector agenda discussed at Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Council

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Council met at the TOBB İstanbul Service Building under the chairmanship of Council President Kutlu Karavelioğlu with the participation of Mehmet Büyüksimitci, TOBB Board Member.​

The decisions taken at the previous meeting were reviewed. Afterwards, a presentation titled “First 10 Months Assessment of 2021 in Machinery Foreign Trade,” was made by Mehtap Önal, Machinery Branch Manager of the Central Anatolia Exporters Association (OAiB).

A comprehensive presentation titled "First 10 Months Assessment of Developments in Sector Key Indicators" was made by Zuhtü Bakır, Secretary General of the Federation of Machinery Manufacturing Industry Associations (MAKFED). 

In addition, presentations and comments on "World and Turkish Economy- Developments and Expectations" by Dr. Can Fuat Gürlesel, Head of Economic and Strategy Consultancy Services, were followed with interest by the Members.

TOBB Environment Directorate Assistant Expert Esin Özarslan informed the Council Members about the developments in the COP-26 process, the outputs of the conference and Turkey's position.

Özgür Karacaoğlu, head of the Department of Internal Trade Directorate of the Ministry of Commerce, gave a detailed information on the Chattel Mortgage Law in Trade Transactions No. 6750 and current developments in practice and received the opinions on the subject.

Dr. Ali Murat Sürekli, Deputy General Manager of Industry at the Ministry of Industry and Technology, gave information about the activities of the Ministry and other organizations related to the Machinery Registration System.

At the end of the meeting, MAKFED Secretary General Zühtü Bakır briefed the Legislative Committee and leasing Committee, which operates under the Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Council, and shared the decisions taken with the participants.
