Cihat Lokmanoğlu and TOBB Turkey Free Zones Council President Edvar Mum.
TOBB Turkey Free Zones Council Speaker Edvar Mum said in a statement that within the framework of the action plan in 2022, they will focus on promotional activities for designated sectors, especially by working in partnership with regional investment agencies and trade advisors.
- Attracting target investors
Emphasizing that professional organizations based at home and abroad are constantly being asked for information about free zones, Mum said that they aim to attract new investors with effective on-site visits rather than waiting for investor firms in this process.
In the information given by the Promotion Group at the meeting in question, it was stated that 70% of the total trade volume of the free zones is in the form of production-based exports. It was emphasized that cooperation with NGOs would be increased in order to more accurately position the free zones and the added value created within the country. It was explained that activities such as accelerator clustering studies, seminars, regular visits of foreign representatives and foreign trade consultants will be carried out even more.
Among the planned activities are the creation of a website with different languages for investors who want to invest in free zones in Turkey and the realization of comprehensive and one-to-one promotional activities, mainly for the European, Middle Eastern and African markets referred to as EMEA.
