M. İbrahim Turhan elected TOBB Turkey Capital Market Council President

The Council President Cabinet election was held during the first meeting of the TOBB Turkey Capital Market Council which was attended by the TOBB Board Member Mustafa Boydak. Council Members elected İstanbul Stock Exchange Market (İMKB) President M. İbrahim Turhan as president, Gedik Investment Securities Inc. Board President Erhan Toğaç and Halk Investment Securities Inc. General Director Murat Çetinkaya as Vice Presidents.
The meeting was of great interest to high level representatives of the public, private and civil society organizations. Suggestions for solutions to the problems of the sector were assessed during the meeting.
- “There is a sizable accumulation in capital markets”
After the election, President Turhan made a general assessment of the sector and stated that there is a sizable accumulation of infrastructure, technology and experience which has formed in the last 30 years. Stating that the sector has as many positive aspects as it has negative aspects, Turhan emphasized that planning for the coming term is of the utmost importance.
Council President Turhan stated that there would be structural changes to institutions and establishments in the sector with the Capital Market Bill awaiting approval at the TBMM Sub-commission.
