TOBB Board of Directors Davut Çetin said that with the recent increase in raw material and energy costs, unpredictability will be felt more in the coming period, the problems and solutions of the sector are discussed in detail in the TOBB Board of Directors and one-on-one meetings are communicated to the Ministers.
Council President Cengiz Eroldu said that 2022 will be a year in which the chip crisis will continue with the problems in the supply chain, that there are already factories that have suspended production or reduced shifts, that the increase in raw material prices is much higher than the increase in the exchange rate, that they welcome the regulation of SCT rates on New Year's Eve, that there is a lack of appetite among consumers due to the very high vehicle loan rates, and that there are ruptures in the supply chain due to the pandemic and that the pandemic should be well managed in 2022.
Following the opening speeches, the automotive industry 2021 business results were evaluated. Changes in energy and raw material prices, regulation of SCT tax brackets and base values, facilitation of access to credit (Automotive Consumer Loans / Commercial Loans), implementation instructions for the sale of 25% of the export price to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) at the transaction rate at the time of issue, and climate council agenda items to be organized by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change were discussed.
