Public-private cooperation for the Professional Driving

The Professional Driving Profession Workshop was held on March 15, 2022 with the participation of representatives of the goods and passenger transport sector, public officials, experts in the field and scientists in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, ministry of labor and social security and the Turkish Federation of Drivers and Automobilists, hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).​

In 3 simultaneous sessions on “Improving the Legal Conditions of Drivers, Problems of the Driving Profession and Incentives for the Profession and Training of Drivers,” the problem of driver absence in the world and Turkey and its solutions were discussed extensively by public and private sector representatives.

In the workshop aimed at providing solutions to the absence of drivers, the basic problems of the driving profession, which is a must for safe passenger and freight transportation activities with the uninterrupted operation of the supply chain, issues related to the working and resting times of the drivers, educational incentives and curriculum update studies were discussed with an impartial understanding, while concrete steps were determined by evaluating the solution proposals.
