Former Bulgarian Deputy Vice President and Social Policy Minister Lydia Shouleva visited TOBB and met with the TOBB Board of Directors Vice President Faik Yavuz.
Expressing how pleased they are that European Former Parliamentarians Club’s select members are visiting Turkey, Faik Yavuz briefed the guests about TOBB.
Stating that they support the Turkish-Bulgarian Business Council, Faik Yavuz said, “We want to further develop our bilateral relations. We can cooperate in the fields of bilateral trade, tourism, renewable energy and investment field. To this end, we will be organizing the third Turkish-Greek-Bulgarian Region Business Forum on the 21st of November, 2012 in Çanakkale.”
- Visa problem
TOBB Board Vice President Faik Yavuz, touching on the visa problem, said, “Your inclusion in the Schengen zone has partially solved this problem but we request that visas be lifted completely. The global crisis set off by the developments in 2008 in the USA has caused upheaval in Europe and even the whole world. Unfortunately Bulgaria was one of the victims of a crisis it did not cause. We are hopeful that Bulgaria’s economy will recover at the soonest. Turkey’s EU membership process has come to a standstill. EU membership is very important for us. We, TOBB, are expending efforts to keeping the process alive.”
