Turkish Health Services Council to continue with Banu Küçükel in new term

The Turkish Health Services Council, which operates within the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), has elected the president and vice president for the new term. Banu Küçükel, Chair of the Board of Directors of Guven Hospital, was elected as the Council President.​

The first elective meeting of the Council was held at the Union headquarters in Ankara to elect the Presidential Council under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Öztürk Oran and to consult on current issues of the sector.

In his opening speech, Öztürk Oran shared with the Council Members the purpose and working principles of the council assemblies, that the councils are an effective mechanism working in cooperation with the public, and that the Turkish Health Services Council will play an important role in the branding of our country in the international arena in the field of health and increasing its share in the field of service exports.

Oran stated that the council structure covers all parties providing health services and consists of chain hospitals, branch hospitals, large local hospitals in its city, nursing homes, elderly care, at-home care, physical therapy centers, laboratories and gene diagnostic centers, and non-governmental organizations of which health organizations are members.

Öztürk Oran said, “I am confident that we will get the fruits of acting jointly in unity and togetherness, being under the roof of TOBB.”

- Election of the Presidential Council

The election was held after the former members of the presidential council spoke on behalf of the council about the pandemic and the past two years of work.

After the candidates for the Council Presidency introduced themselves, the election of the Presidential Council was held.

Banu Küçükel, Chair of the Board of Directors of Guven Hospital, was elected as Council President while Dr.Yusuf Ziya Yıldırım, Member of the Board of Directors of Sanko Gaziantep Private Health Inc. was elected Vice Council President.

Banu Küçükel urged support for the presidential council, expressing full faith that this Council, which will work with unity and solidarity, will do good work.

The Health Services Council has set out to set a roadmap for improving Turkey's health system.
