Information Support Information Meeting

Within the scope of the sector information activities carried out within the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the “Information Sector Supports E-Turquality (Stars of Informatics) Meeting” was held in Ankara under the leadership of the Ministry of Commerce.​

Private sector representatives attended the meeting where all the details about the support program issued in order to prepare companies, institutions and cooperation organizations for export and gain competitive advantage in international markets were discussed.

In the meeting held with the participation of Dr. Emre Orhan Öztelli, General Manager of the Ministry of Trade for International Service Trade, Çiğdem Şamiloğlu Erkoç, Deputy General Manager Çiğdem Şamiloğlu Erkoç, TOBB Deputy Secretary General and Ertan Barut, President of the Turkish Software Assembly, “Informatics Supports Information Presentation” was made by Hürol Karlı, Head of the Department of Informatics, Software and Communication Services Exports.

In his opening remarks, TOBB Deputy Secretary General Cengiz Delibaş said that Turquality, Turkey's first state-supported brand program, is more than an incentive program, but also a business model that creates value for businesses, and that E-Turquality is revolutionary for the IT sector. Delibaş stated that he sees the support as an important step for the software sector, which shapes life, to get a greater share from the world cake.

Council President Ertan Barut stated that the export power of the sector will increase with the support package and thanked Trade Minister Mehmet Muş. Barut said that they aim to increase exports to 10 billion dollars as a sector and that they have opened the way with this support package. Barut underlined that they are working closely with the Ministry in the E-Turquality support program and that they are ready to provide all necessary support to the Ministry as a sector.

Dr. Emre Orhan Öztelli, General Manager of International Services Trade, stated that they quickly received positive feedback on the support package prepared to increase the competitiveness of the IT sector in the international market. Öztelli stated that as the Ministry, they are open to all kinds of ideas that will pave the way for the sector.

Hürol Karlı, Head of the Department of Informatics, Software and Communication Services Exports of the Ministry of Trade, made an informative presentation about the incentives and supports provided to the software sector with the “Presidential Decision on the Internationalization of the Turkish Informatics Sector and the E-Turquality (Stars of Informatics) Program” published on April 20, 2022.

Karlı stated that a comprehensive support program such as strengthening their infrastructure and institutional capacities and promoting their products and services abroad was organized in order to prepare companies and organizations for export and gain competitive advantage in the international market. Karlı underlined that they aim to increase inter-sectoral cooperation with the support program prepared and to contribute to the employment of young people in our country with employment-oriented supports.
