On Tuesday, June 14, the UNICEF Turkey Business Advisory Board met with Seda GEDİK from the Directorate of International Relations and Nazlı AKGÜN from the SME Directorate on behalf of TOBB. At the meeting, information was provided about the “My Profession My Life, Work and Internship Program” established in partnership with the Ministry of National Education and TOBB. My Profession My Life Work and Internship Program” aims to bring employers and young people together throughout the country.
At the meeting organized under the leadership of UNICEF Turkey Representative Regina De Dominicis, with the participation of UNICEF Turkey Business Advisory Board members consisting of TOBB, DELL Turkey, Carrefoursa, Doğan Holding, Sabancı Holding, SAP Turkey, Turkcell, Unilever, Garanti BBVA and TÜSİAD, and young people from the Generation Unlimited-GenU (Generation Unlimited-GenU), the members of the UNICEF Turkey Business Advisory Board agreed to participate in the Professional Skills Mobilization presented to them. The mobilization aims to support the efforts carried out by the Ministry of National Education to facilitate the transition of young people to working life by creating vocational and technical education opportunities.
Regina De Dominicis, UNICEF Representative in Turkey, said: “UNICEF is supporting this mobilization to provide 10,000 young people with workplace-based training and mentoring opportunities by June 2023. There is a need for initiatives that support the smooth transition of every young person in Turkey from school to working life, and private sector organizations have a critical role in this regard.”
