In his opening speeches, Council President Zeki Konukoğlu talked about the current problems of the sector and left the floor to TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç. Zeki Kıvanç stated that the problems raised in the Council meeting will be forwarded to public institutions and organizations.
Cem Aşık was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electricity Producers Association, who entered the meeting where the election of the Vice President of the Council was held, as the only candidate.
After the election of the Vice President, at the meeting where the Chairmen and members of the Council Committee took the floor, Production and Investment Committee Chairman and Vice President of the Council Cem Aşık said, “Together with our Council President, we will continue to work with all our strength to contribute to the healthy development of our energy sector and increase the competitiveness of our country within TOBB.”
Distribution Committee Chairman Özge Özden mentioned the importance of the investments of electricity distribution companies and stated that this amount will be 35 Billion TL for 2023. Trade Committee Member Serdar Dönmez stated that in order to revive electricity trade in 2023, a certain part of the production capacity of the generation companies could be sold in the free market without being subject to the maximum settlement price.
After the statements of the Committee Chairmen, Parliamentary Advisor Kemal Uslu made a presentation about what happened in the electricity market in the first three quarters of 2022.
