Parseker invited Dutch companies to invest in Turkey

Prime Minister Deputy Ali Babacan and the Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte attended the round table discussion of CEOs in Turkey. Moderating the meeting was TOBB Board Treasurer İlhan Parseker and Employers and Industry Federation (VNO-NCW) President Bernard Wientjes.​

 

In his speech, TOBB Board Treasurer İlhan Parseker stated that Turkey has displayed extraordinary performance in the last 10 years and that it holds great potential for foreign investors.

Assuring that foreign investors can invest in Turkey with confidence, Parseker invited Dutch companies to invest in Turkey.

Prime Minister Deputy Ali Babacan, stating the importance of the day as it is the 400th anniversary of the bilateral relations between Turkey and the Netherlands, reported that as of the end of last year, total trade volume has reached 7.3 billion USD.

Stating that this figure is below its full potential, Babacan said that it is expected that the direct investments from the Netherlands will exceed 16 billion USD by the end of the year.

The Netherlands Prime Minister Rutte stated that they have been meeting with businessmen in Ankara and  İstanbul back to back in order to increase business relations.

Stating that Turkey is one of the Netherlands’ most important trade and investment partners, Rutte said that in the last 10 years the Turkish economy has grown rapidly and enviably.

Reporting that the bilateral trade volume between the two countries is over 7 billion USD yearly, Rutte said, “We have met with President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. These meetings were not only about political matters. They also involved seeking ways to increase the financial and economic relations between the two countries.”
