Durable Goods Council October meeting held

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Durable Goods Council meeting was held via video conference under the chairmanship of Council President Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu with the participation of TOBB Board Member Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu.​

In his opening speech, Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu talked about the activities of the Durable Goods Council, which works actively with its sub-committees, and thanked the Council Members for their selfless work.

After the Speaker of the Council, Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu, conveyed his congratulations to Sadıkoğlu, who renewed confidence in the Chamber elections, the meeting continued within the scope of the agenda items.

At the meeting, Koç Holding Economic Research Coordinator Ahmet Çimenoğlu gave information about the world and Türkiye's economic outlook in the light of current developments. He pointed out that the world economy is going through a difficult process and that the rise in American 10-year bond yields is extremely critical for the funds that will come to our country. He said that the world economy is slowing down, the positive effect of the slowdown is seen in commodity markets, but a troubled period may be experienced in terms of growth.

Afterwards, TOBB Environment Directorate informed about the Climate Change Law Draft, which was prepared within the scope of the fight against climate change and closely followed by our Union.

At the meeting, where the Communiqués on Compliance with Standards in Imports prepared within the scope of the Product Safety and Inspection Communiqués were also discussed, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in order to authorize the companies to operate as waste management officers, to determine the waste producers who will carry out the management of their wastes through these companies and to regulate the procedures and principles for the obligations of the companies, Waste Management Draft Regulation on Responsible Companies was discussed in detail.
