The Council meeting was hosted by TOBB Board Member Mahmut Özgener and chaired by Council Speaker Özgür Öztan with the participation of USHAŞ General Manager Murat Mercan and Council Members.

The meeting was held with the agendas of USHAŞ General Manager Murat Mercan informing the sector about the HealthTürkiye brand, determining the work of the parliamentary sub-commission on the Sector Report planned to be issued in April 2023, and determining the roles and responsibilities to be undertaken by the Council for the Health Tourism Buyer Delegation and Seminar to be held in June 2023.

TOBB Board of Directors Member Mahmut Özgener stated his satisfaction with USHAŞ General Manager Murat Mercan's participation in the meeting to inform the sector about HealthTurkey, which has recently been on the agenda in the sector, and emphasized the importance of public and private sector cooperation.

Council President Özgür Öztan informed the Council about the activities and studies planned for the development of health tourism, qualified health personnel for Türkiye to become a worldwide brand.

Öztan stated that the “TOBB International Health Tourism B2B Seminar”, which will be held in June by the TOBB Türkiye International Health Tourism Council in Cappadocia with the participation of 70 foreign participants and 40 domestic companies from 35 countries from 5 continents, will be an important milestone in Türkiye's branding journey. He shared the processes carried out for the event with the participants.  

In his speech, Mercan emphasized that a comprehensive study was initiated with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and that all International Health Services offered in our country are the umbrella brand “HealthTürkiye brand”. He shared with the Council Members that the health tourism web portal, which is an important component of the brand, has been made ready for use, announced to all hospitals with international health tourism authorization certificate in our country and started to become a member of the portal on 12.09.2022, 25 public hospitals and 131 private hospitals are in the system, and on 31.10.2022 it has been opened to the service of the whole world through www.healthturkiye.com .

“This platform, as Türkiye's most comprehensive official international health services platform, is a platform that allows people who want to come to our country from abroad to receive services within the scope of health tourism to get to know and easily access the health system in our country and our health institutions that provide services and provides services under public assurance.  We look forward to your support as the public and your participation,” he said.

After the discussion of the agenda items, the meeting schedule was determined and the meeting is ended.
